Product Details

Prozastar is a herbicide containing Propaquizafop 10% EC. A selective, systemic post-emergence herbicide that controls grassy weeds in broadleaf field crops by blocking fatty acid synthesis in actively growing grasses, while leaving the broadleaf crop unaffected.

Technical Details

  • Composition: Propaquizafop 10% EC
  • Formulation: Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC)
  • Mode of action: ACCase (Acetyl-CoA carboxylase) inhibitor; aryloxyphenoxypropionate ('fop')

Features & Benefits

  • Selective - controls grasses without harming broadleaf crops.
  • Systemic, rainfast within about an hour of application.
  • Effective on both annual and some perennial grass weeds.
  • Fast visible action on treated grasses.

Dosage & Application

  • Recommended crops: Soybean, Black gram (urad), Onion
  • Target weeds: Dactyloctenium aegyptium, Digitaria sanguinalis, Echinochloa colonum, Echinochloa crus-galli, Eleusine indica; also Phalaris minor on onion
  • Application method: Post-emergence foliar spray when grass weeds are at the 2-4 leaf stage, 15-25 days after sowing
  • Always follow the crop, dose and timing given on the product label and leaflet.

Safety & Precautions

  • Grass-selective only - does not control broadleaf weeds or sedges, so may need to be paired with a broadleaf partner herbicide.
  • Tank-mixing with broadleaf/hormone herbicides can reduce grass control efficacy for ACCase-inhibitor 'fop' chemistry.
  • Read the label and leaflet carefully before use, and follow the crop, dose and timing given there.
  • Wear protective clothing, gloves, face mask and goggles while handling, mixing and applying.
  • Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew while handling. Wash hands, face and exposed skin with soap and water after use.
  • Do not spray against the wind or in strong wind. Avoid drift onto people, animals, other crops and water sources.
  • Use a separate sprayer for herbicides, or clean the sprayer thoroughly after use.
  • Do not contaminate ponds, wells, canals or other water sources with the product, its washings or empty containers.
  • Keep out of reach of children and animals. Store in the original, tightly closed container in a cool, dry, locked place, away from food, feed and fertilizers.
  • Do not reuse empty containers. Dispose of them safely as directed on the label.
  • Observe the waiting period between the last application and harvest stated on the label.
  • In case of poisoning or suspected poisoning, stop work, move to fresh air, get medical help immediately and show the label or leaflet to the doctor.
