Product Details
Pactar-23 is a plant growth regulator containing Paclobutrazol 23% SC. A plant growth regulator applied as a soil drench to mango trees that blocks gibberellin production, slowing vegetative shoot growth and redirecting the tree's energy toward flower induction.
Technical Details
- Composition: Paclobutrazol 23% SC
- Formulation: Suspension Concentrate (SC)
- Mode of action: Triazole; gibberellin biosynthesis inhibitor
Features & Benefits
- Induces and synchronises flowering in mango.
- Helps break alternate (biennial) bearing habit.
- Reduces excess vegetative vigour.
- Single well-timed application can influence flowering for more than one season.
Dosage & Application
- Recommended crops: Mango
- Purpose: Induces and regularises flowering in mango
- Dosage: Mango soil drench (per tree, diluted in 5-10 L water): 7-15 yrs old - 15 ml/tree; 16-25 yrs - 20 ml/tree; over 25 yrs - 25-40 ml/tree
- Application method: Soil/collar drench around the root zone, single application after fruit harvest and before flower initiation (roughly July-October)
- Always follow the crop, dose and timing given on the product label and leaflet.
Safety & Precautions
- Overdose or repeated full-dose application causes excessive stunting and delayed vegetative recovery.
- Effect on tree vigour can persist across more than one season, so repeat-year doses are normally reduced to 50-75% of the first application.
- Read the label and leaflet carefully before use, and follow the crop, dose and timing given there.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Wear protective clothing, gloves, face mask and goggles while handling, mixing and applying.
- Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew while handling. Wash hands, face and exposed skin with soap and water after use.
- Do not spray against the wind or in strong wind. Avoid drift onto people, animals, other crops and water sources.
- Do not contaminate ponds, wells, canals or other water sources with the product, its washings or empty containers.
- Keep out of reach of children and animals. Store in the original, tightly closed container in a cool, dry, locked place, away from food, feed and fertilizers.
- Do not reuse empty containers. Dispose of them safely as directed on the label.
- Observe the waiting period between the last application and harvest stated on the label.
- In case of poisoning or suspected poisoning, stop work, move to fresh air, get medical help immediately and show the label or leaflet to the doctor.
